At Crest Plus, we’re all about promoting mental and physical wellbeing for our contractors and the wider community. That’s why, we’re pleased to be sponsoring the AMITY 3-day charity challenge in support of Nicola’s Fund and Nightingale House Hospice, two incredibly important cancer charities, doing what they can to help improve the quality of life for cancer sufferers and their families.
The AMITY challenge was brought to our attention by Director of Insightful Analytix, Chris Coan, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 years ago and has watched dear friends and family members fight painful battles against this devastating disease.
Following Chris’ diagnosis, his entire outlook has changed, and he believes that life is about caring for others and challenging yourself to contribute on a broader social basis. To show recognition and thanks to the care from medical and support staff who supported him throughout his cancer battle, Chris seeks to raise money for charities that help give a better quality of life to those fighting cancer.
So, to celebrate hitting his 60th birthday, Chris will be putting himself through an intense physical challenge, driven by a reinvigorated “Wellness Mentality” and his desire to raise money for these two vitally important causes.
The 3-day intense physical cycling journey across Chester and The Llyn Peninsula, running from 24th – 26th September 2021 is open for anyone to participate in part or full.
DAY ONE (24th September) will include a two-hour time trial in the Chester suburbs, with a target of 60k.
DAY TWO (25th September) kicks off at Boughton Hall CC at 10 am. Chris will aim to cycle from Chester to Aberoch (approximately 160k) through Snowdonia National Park in 8 hours.
DAY THREE (26th September) will be a half marathon, starting at 11 am, from Abersoch to Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. Chris aims to complete this journey within 2 hours.
Chris is encouraging others to participate if they wish, whether physically or virtually, as well as asking for sponsorships and donations.
