As we approach the second half of 2020 and move towards the introduction of new IR35 (off-payroll) reforms (in April 2021), compliance remains as important to us as it always has been.

That’s why we’ve developed an end-to-end onboarding and payments processing system that’s simple and easy for both agencies and contractors. This process is the result of over 20 years’ experience in the sector and is designed to be smooth and convenient so that contractors can be set up and ready to work without delay – and paid on time. We call it The Crest Plus Way.
Stage 1: Day-to-day contact
First, our field-based Account Directors and office-based Account Managers work to maintain daily contact with our agency partners to manage contractor referrals.
Stage 2: Contractor registration
Whenever a contractor is referred, our Relationship Team get in touch straight away to discuss the contractor’s working options and provide a detailed pay illustration. This ensures contractors understand their new working requirements and experience a transparent and hassle-free setup. To allow for an efficient onboarding process, every time our team contacts a contractor, we’ll provide their consultant with an update on their status. This ensures you can always monitor your contractors without having to chase so you can use your time effectively.
Stage 3: Our dedication to compliance
To facilitate our goals of efficient and compliant onboarding, we conduct Right to Work and Identity checks using our highly reliable system provided by LexisNexis, a leading global provider of legal, regulatory, and business analytics. LexisNexis’ powerful new decision tools apply machine learning, language processing, visualisation, and artificial intelligence to ensure that contractor checks are conducted accurately and instantly – allowing for a quick and risk-free setup.
Our LexisNexis tool produces an audit trail so agencies can prove they took reasonable care when assessing contractors, mitigating any risk of financial liability, and alleviating the fear of challenge from HMRC.
Stage 4: Contractor payments
Once your contractor’s identification has been authorised, they’re ready to work compliantly and they’ll progress to Stage 4 where our Payments Team will ensure accurate invoices are raised and contractors receive accurate payments.

Stage 5: Ongoing support
As part of our dedication to streamlined efficiency for all parties, the contractor will then receive a text message to confirm they have been paid. We also operate an online portal which is always available for contractors to check payment information or update other important documentation that may impact compliance and regulations. This is all part of our ongoing support and care for you and your contractors.
