IR35 REFORMS – HELP FOR AGENCIES
Mar 08, 2020
Last week the Treasury confirmed that the off-payroll reforms will definitely go ahead on April 6th, though final details are yet to be released. Whilst there will be no penalties for non-deliberate compliance errors in the first year, it is still important to ensure you are properly prepared and able to work with contractors, whether they are deemed inside or outside IR35.
Support for employment agencies
Because employment agencies will be liable for unpaid tax under the new rules, it’s now more important than ever to look at the steps you need to take to protect your business and work compliantly whilst continuing to support your end hirers and contractors. Working with all parties in the supply chain is now more important than ever before.
Options
If your end hirers decide not to use PSC/limited company contractors, you will need to look at an alternative.
We can work alongside your agency to decide on the right approach. For example, if you have workers in the construction industry, then it’s worth looking at whether they can utilise the Construction Industry Scheme. This takes care of tax compliance and is a straight-forward way to work with construction contractors.
Alternatively, it may be appropriate to use our Freelance contracting solution which enables your end hirers to continue to access a flexible workforce in much the same way as the do now.
Equally, if you know you need to switch contractors to an Umbrella solution, you can rest assured you’re in safe hands with Crest Plus. As one of the UK’s longest-established Umbrella companies, we can help you migrate large volumes of contractors at short notice, if required, using our tried-and-trusted registration process.
- FCSA-accredited Umbrella
- Widely regarded as one of the industry’s most experienced contractor payments teams
- Proven track record – we support thousands of Umbrella contractors to work compliantly
