New payslips information for Umbrella contractors

New payslips information for Umbrella contractors

Mar 27, 2019

New rules come into force next month to make payslips easier to understand, particularly for people who are paid according to the number of hours they work such as Umbrella employees.

From April 6th 2019, contract and flexible workers including Umbrella employees will receive an itemised payslip, just like regular employees. Our Umbrella workers will see their payslip specifies the number of hours they are being paid for, either as a single aggregate figure or separate figures for different types of work or different rates of pay.

The change has been designed to make payslips even clearer and easier to understand.  Umbrella workers will be able to see at-a-glance what they are being paid alongside the time they have worked.  It will be clear which pay period the hours were worked in, though hours will only be shown for pay periods beginning on or after April 6th 2019.

You can read HMRC’s detailed guidance on the new payslip rules here . However, the team here at Crest Plus are more than happy to answer any queries about payslip.
